Advantages of the 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI Over the 2023 Honda Civic
Deciding which hatchback will meet your needs can be difficult, especially since it seems like every brand now has one. Two always at the top of their class are the new Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Honda Civic, but we want to help you see how they differentiate from each other and which one you might want for your daily drives in East Haven or Guilford.

A Better Infotainment System
The 2023 Honda Civic may have caught up in terms of infotainment, ease of use, and options, but the Golf GTI continues to stay ahead. The Golf GTI offers an intuitive system that comes standard with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ for smartphone connectivity. While the Honda Civic now comes standard with the same setup, the best the lineup can do is a nine-inch touchscreen - the Golf GTI features an available ten-inch Discover Pro touchscreen with navigation. You can also get wireless App-Connect, which isn't available with the Civic Hatchback.
Traditional Versus Exciting
The Honda Civic hatchback follows the same design that the sedan has for many years - with the obvious exception that it is a hatchback - keeping it from standing out in a crowd. On the other hand, the Golf GTI has a unique look that no other model can emulate, being a one-of-a-kind option that you won't find anywhere else.

More Power Under the Hood
The Volkswagen Golf lineup removed the base model, sticking with the much more powerful Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R options. This update is bad news for Honda Civic engine lovers. The Volkswagen Golf GTI comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, delivering 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The Honda Civic provides two engine options, but even the turbocharged four-cylinder can't match the Golf GTI's power - the Civic makes 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque.
