Exterior Design
The 2025 VW Golf R and Golf GTI both come with a dynamic, contemporary look while continuing their distinctive hatchback body styles. Both the Golf R and its GTI cousin will come with new head- and taillamps while the Golf R continues with its unique lower grille, front bumper and front intake. Exclusive new 19-inch wheels and blue brake calipers are combined with large exhaust tips and a unique rear spoiler that Guilford, CT buyers will appreciate.
Interior Design
Interior updates in the new 2025 Golf R will include new premium sports seats with a fresh black-blue color pattern. The new Golf R will offer Middletown, CT buyers available black Nappa leather seats and carbon-look styling elements. The leather steering wheel iin the Golf R will come with blue stitching accents. The 2025 Golf GTI gets noteworthy upgrades that turn an attractive cabin into a space that's more usable. The steering wheel now has real buttons instead of touch-sensitive sliders and the infotainment system has been upgraded as well.
Performance
The 2025 Golf R will be equipped with a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an increased output of 328 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The standard all-wheel drive system has a rear differential that can distribute torque actively between the left and right rear wheels to improve handling. The new 2025 Golf GTI will continue with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will generate the same 241 horsepower as last year's model. Both versions of the Golf will have a a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2025 Golf R will reach 60 mph in 4.6 seconds while the new Golf GTI will hit the same milestone in 5.7 seconds. Fuel economy for the Golf R should be around 30 MPG on the highway and the new Golf GTI will get up to 34 MPG on East Haven, CT highways.
Technology
For the 2025 model year, the VW Golf R and Golf GTI will both offer a new, larger 12.9-inch infotainment screen positioned in the center of the dashboard. Updated software will include a full-time lower control bar to keep certain commands in view at all times. Climate controls will be more intuitive illuminated sliders and there will also be a 10.2-inch digital driver's screen. Other updates in the new Golf R will include a new GPS lap timer that allows you to set three waypoints to compare the fastest laps and display them simultaneously. The Golf R will also have a G-meter with three modes to better refine your performance.
Safety
Safety comes standard on the 2025 Golf. All trims will include Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Departure Warning and Lane-Keeping Assist. Also standard will be Adaptive Cruise Control.
