New 2024 VW ID.4 for Sale in Old Saybrook
The Volkswagen ID.4 is a fully electric SUV that's about the size of a gas-powered Volkswagen Tiguan. The ID.4 has a very limited real-world driving range of only 240 miles and that's in ideal weather conditions with the bigger, more expensive battery pack. The smaller battery pack gives you only about 206 miles of range. That's in contrast to the gas-powered VW Tiguan with a driving range of 443 miles. In addition, the ID.4 can't do DC fast charging as fast as competitors from Hyundai and Ford. Here are some more details about the new Volkswagen ID.4 at Volkswagen of Old Saybrook in Old Saybrook, CT.
We're sorry, availability of some equipment, options or features may be limited due to global supply issues affecting the auto industry. Please be sure to verify that the vehicle you purchase includes all expected features and equipment.
Exterior design
The VW ID.4 comes with clean exterior contours along with a bold aerodynamic configuration. It offers available 21-inch wheels with attractive designs. When you have the key in your pocket, you can swipe your foot under the bumper and the power liftgate opens right up. You can put up to 26 pieces of luggage in the ID.4 when the rear seat is folded down. It has a push-to-lock button on the front driver's side handle and the mirrors fold in at the same time.
Interior design
The cabin of the ID 4 has a modern design with ambient lighting and plenty of cargo space. Heated cloth front seats are a standard feature and you can get faux-leather upholstery as well as 12-way power-adjustable front seats with a memory function in the Pro S model. The ID.4 has a screen for operating the sliding overhead window cover. In addition, the ID.4 lets you rearrange the position of cupholders, something that may be of interest to some Waterford and Guilford CT buyers.
Performance
The Volkswagen ID 4 with the single rear mounted motor and the smaller 58=kilowatt battery gives you 201 horsepower but if you spend enough to get the dual motor configuration with all-wheel drive and the larger 77-kilowatt battery you'll get 330 horsepower. The ID.4 does not provide the one-pedal driving capability that other EV models have and it also has slower acceleration than competitive vehicles but the cabin is quiet.
The ID.4 takes 83 hours to fully charge at 110 volts but you can do it in six to eight hours if you pay enough to have a 220-volt charger installed in your garage. DC fast charging can be done in three to four hours but public charging stations can be hard to find and don't work reliably so it's better to charge at home. Above all, we want you to get a VW you'll be happy with, whether it's gas-powered or electric, so these are realities we want our valued customers in Middletown and East Haven CT to know about.
Technology
The ID.4 comes with a standard 12.0-inch infotainment touch screen and offers a slightly larger 12.9-inch display as an optional alternative. The infotainment interface and Volkswagen's ID 4 can be hard to use especially at night because the buttons aren't backlit. Some of the touch sensitive controls aren't responsive and even the process of rolling down windows can be difficult. The ID.4 has a 5.3 inch digital gauge display and wireless smartphone connectivity.
Safety
The VW ID.4 offers a number of standard safety features including automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
